New Master Plan Approved for Jebel Ali Beach Development Project
Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has approved the master plan for the Jebel Ali Beach Development Project.
This ambitious 6.6-kilometer beach project is designed to become a top recreational destination, emphasizing environmental preservation as part of the Dubai 2040 Master Plan.
Key Features of the Jebel Ali Beach Development Project
1. Environmental Conservation:
The Jebel Ali Beach Development Project aims to enhance Dubai’s urban experiences while prioritizing environmental preservation. Located within the Jebel Ali Wildlife Sanctuary, a Ramsar site of global environmental importance, the project emphasizes the protection of local ecosystems and wildlife. Key initiatives include enhancing turtle habitats and planting mangrove trees, contributing to the growth of the blue carbon footprint.
2. Recreational and Sporting Facilities:
The development will include a 2.5-kilometer diving sports area, a 2-kilometer open swimmable beach, and a walkway with viewing platforms. Additional features will cater to beachgoers of all ages, including kid-friendly play zones, sports areas, and marine activity areas.
3. Infrastructure and Accessibility:
The project will integrate a comprehensive infrastructure with a two-lane road in each direction, 1,000 parking spaces, 80 bicycle racks, a cycling track, and a 5-kilometer running track. These additions aim to promote active lifestyles and improve accessibility.
Three Distinct Areas of the Beach
The Pearl:
Situated near the entrance of Palm Jebel Ali, this area will be a hub for beach and recreational activities. It will feature a lively family beach, sports activities, a swimming pool, kid’s play zones, a beach club, restaurants, cafes, shops, and a floating restaurant.
The Sanctuary:
Designed as a haven for turtles and natural habitats, this area focuses on environmental conservation. It will include recreational and sports activities that encourage safe environmental exploration.
The Nest:
Located within the mangrove area, The Nest will be a recreational educational destination. It will feature an environmental center for studies, turtle rehabilitation programs, and opportunities for visitors to learn about and help preserve the coastal ecosystem.
The Jebel Ali Beach Development Project offers various investment opportunities, including restaurants, leisure centers, and commercial kiosks. The architectural design of the buildings and facilities draws inspiration from natural marine shapes, such as coral and turtle shells, and the Boho Style, using locally available materials.
The Supreme Committee for Urban Planning and Quality of Life has awarded contracts for developing Al Mamzar and Jumeirah 1 Beaches, totaling 5.7 kilometers. These beaches will introduce innovative features, such as a 200-meter floating bridge, an 11-kilometer cycling and jogging track, and a 24/7 night-swimmable beach in Deira.
